Emma Sproates 2023 My Voice, My Journey participant, a shining example of resilience and determination, has embarked on a remarkable journey of personal and professional growth.
Before her involvement in the My Voice, My Journey Program, Emma had already begun making strides in her career as a proud employee of Muladha Gamara, an Aboriginal-owned and operated business based on Yuin Country in Mogo. Meaning “Wise Woman, Wise Man” in the Dhurga Language, Muladha Gamara is a Cultural Tourism small business dedicated to providing cultural guidance, holistic health, social and emotional well-being programs, cultural education, and more. Emma’s role within the organization reflects her involvment in the community and dedication to sharing her Culture.
Emma has aspirations of one-day taking over Muladha Gamara and has ideas about different cultural education initiatives she wants to pursue. Recently she was involved with the Welcome to Country for the 2024 My voice, My Journey Participants held on Walbunja County in Nelligen. We are incredibly proud of Emma’s journey and her dedication, resilience, and passion for her culture are truly inspiring. Seeing her thrive in her role at Muladha Gamara is something we are very proud of at the My Voice, My Journey Program.
As Emma continues to make her mark in the community, she serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for other young First Nations leaders and community. Her story is a reminder that with determination, support, and a strong connection to culture, anything is possible.
Here at My Voice, My Journey, we celebrate Emma’s achievements and look forward to witnessing the positive impact she will undoubtedly continue to make in her community and beyond.
